The Woods at Duck Harbor
Noticeably absent from The Woods are clubhouses, tennis courts, and other common amenities. Instead, nature takes center stage. Miles of walking and riding trails are maintained, wetland habitats are restored and maintained, and natural park and picnic areas are provided.
The development has been planned to preserve the land. The largest impact of the development is the road system. However, all utility and cable lines are underground and the roads are finished with natural stone aggregate to create a unique country atmosphere. The road system itself provides the most used walking trails and brings to mind old rural country lanes.
The Woods backs 10,000 acres of Pennsylvania state game land with a walking trail maintained on Heights Road. The development is situated around the southern end of the 205-acre glacial fed Duck Harbor Pond. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission stocks the lake, ensuring good fishing in all seasons. The lake is large enough for motor boating activities yet strict wake times allows for favorable fishing at peak hours.
